Anime Suggestions

Frequently asked questions

Where do the recommendations come from?
From people. Since 2014, visitors have suggested what to watch after an anime they liked and voted on each other's suggestions. The vote tallies are the recommendation — there is no engine guessing on your behalf.
What do the sort options mean?
Best weighs upvotes against downvotes (a Wilson confidence score, the same idea Reddit used for comments) so a 50/2 pick beats a 300/250 one. Popular sorts by net points alone. New lists the most recently upvoted or suggested. Random shuffles with a bias toward better picks — good for exploring.
What are points, and why should I vote?
Each recommendation shows its net votes. Upvote a pick that fits what you searched, downvote one that doesn't. Votes are anonymous, no account needed, and they are what keeps the ordering honest over time.
How do lists work?
“+ My list” on any recommendation saves it. Without an account the list lives in your browser; register or log in and it moves onto your account, where you can keep several named lists and pick a default.
Why can't I find an anime?
Spelling no longer has to be exact — search matches English, romaji and Japanese titles, common alternate names, and forgives typos. If something truly isn't there, it may fall outside the catalog's rules (it runs through recent seasons but only includes rated, non-adult TV series, movies and OVAs). You can still see its votes wherever the community recommended it.
What does the "For you" page do?
Name several anime you liked and it fuses the community's votes for all of them into one list — or into separate rows when your picks pull in different directions. No account needed; the page's URL is shareable.
